Refugees from Afghanistan will be arriving in Kalamazoo soon. Churches have been invited to sponsor a family or several individuals.
Sponsors operate in teams of 2-15 people. This opportunity is perfect for couples, small-groups, or even groups of friends.
Volunteer co-sponsors journey with a refugee family as they gain independence in the United States. From welcoming them at the airport to sharing meals with them, co-sponsors are essential to the work that Bethany does in welcoming our new neighbors. The work can be challenging, but the relationships we can develop can be life changing.
Some of you have been involved in refugee ministry in the past, perhaps you would like to learn more about sponsoring refugees in the present.
We will hold a meeting in Room 31, today after church from 11:15-12:00. Please come and learn about what our church can do to welcome these refugees into our community.
