"A Sanctuary in the City… Living Faith"

Help needed with Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Garrett Bloom and I am a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 205, based here at First Presbyterian Church. I am currently working on my Eagle Project, the culmination of my Scouting experience. Last spring, I had the opportunity to help with the “Stop Hunger Now” event hosted by First Presbyterian Church. I was very impressed with the organization and decided that I would like to organize a packaging event for my project. Stop Hunger Now, now known as “Rise Against Hunger,” is an international relief organization that distributes food and aid to the world’s most vulnerable. I decided that I wanted to take my Eagle Project beyond “building a bench,” and instead, help those in desperate need in the international community.

I am currently in the process of raising money to fund a “Rise Against Hunger” food packaging event. The beneficiaries of this event will be vulnerable international communities. The event I am organizing will package over 10,000 meals. The food helps communities in crisis, as well as providing food for school children in developing countries.
I have raised about half of the $3,200 needed. I have been supported by friends, family, as well as my Scout troop. I would like to ask for your support in raising the final $1,600. I have a “Go Fund Me” account (gofund.me/2tgpppwn). I can also accept checks or cash. Checks should be made out to “Boy Scout Troop 205” with “Garrett Bloom Eagle” on the memo line.
I will be in the Gathering Place before and after Worship on May 7 and 14 to accept donations, talk with you about the project, and take your name if you would like to help package the food.

Thank you for your support!
