"A Sanctuary in the City… Living Faith"

North Presbyterian Church

North Presbyterian Church has been financially challenged since, in the fall of 2014, Community
Mental Health of Kalamazoo County cut its financial support of the Togetherness Group, a part
of their ministry. The Togetherness Group provides weekly social activities for people living with
serious mental illness. For many of the participants, this weekly activity is the only time they can
leave the house and have fun with friends. Being involved with others in this way for over 25
years has energized and inspired members of North with a new vision of what “church” can be.
The ministry at North Presbyterian Church is unique; it grew out of a need identified by some
members of First Presbyterian Church over 100 years ago.
