"A Sanctuary in the City… Living Faith"
chili and gumbo cook-off

Chili/Gumbo Cook-Off!

Yes, for the second straight year we are continuing our new tradition of having both chili and gumbo be part of our annual cook-off.   Here are the details:

WHEN?         February 10, following worship

WHERE?       The Church Dining Room

WHO?           Everyone who loves to eat chili and/or gumbo.  (On that note, if your group or organization is interested making chili or gumbo and entering this friendly competition, please contact Rick Taylor at 349-0867 or at baktaylor@chartermi.net)

WHY?            To benefit the disaster relief organization ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING

You are heartily invited to sample and enjoy many different delicious varieties of chili and gumbo with your friends and family at FPC and then vote for your favorites!  The suggested donation per person is $5.  Kids eat free! Your donation gives you 5 voting tickets to choose your favorite entry/entries.  Additional tickets can be purchased at great deals to “stuff the ballot boxes.”

Tickets will be on sale before worship on February 10, as well as downstairs at the cook-off.  Buy early.  Contribute often!

The event is always fun, but remember that the real winner is One Great Hour of Sharing, a disaster relief organization since 1949.  Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians in this effort to share God’s love with people in need.  Our gifts support ministries of disaster response, refugee assistance and resettlement, and community development.
